I agree.....
and I also think @Stech is in the ballpark on finances. I think ESPN banked on the exclusive bidding, played fast and loose trying to close the deal and is now a little bit upside down. Disney can probably cover any financial resources within reason but, I think the Disney execs are probably wary of some of the idiots running ESPN now and will not give them the blank check they once might have, preferring to see where the landscape might go. This is also probably part of their hesitancy to buy Phillips' vote. For a very long time ESPN ably lived up to their moniker the Worldwide Leader in Sports but, in these recent years they are hemorrhaging substantially in a variety of areas.
